You don’t always know when you’ll have to move. Although most moves are made during the day, this may not always be possible or the best option for you.
In NYC, moves are often difficult to plan given the challenges of finding an apartment and varying building rules. Due to such factors, you may be unable to take time off work, making a night or holiday your best option. Emergencies or other special circumstances may call for an unusual move-out time. We can usually also handle last-minute moves. With our 24/7 moving service, you know we’ll be available to make your move whenever it works for you.
Holiday Moves
Moving during the holidays isn’t easy. Businesses are closed, friends are busy, and materials are in short supply. Most moving companies are unavailable, but we are ready to help. Christmas, Thanksgiving, bank holidays, Super Bowl Sunday: you name it. We’re always ready and able to coordinate your move.

Planning Your Move
With MNS, you can book a move at the last minute, on a nonbusiness day, or on a bank holiday. We respond to requests within 24 hours. Our office is closed on weekends (although we do move on weekends!), but we’ll always get back to you as soon as possible.
In most cases, there are no extra charges for your move during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Pricing can vary based on the amount you need moved, who does the packing (you or us), and the number of pickups and drop-offs.
When considering when to move, keep in mind that moving during the night will likely cost more and your building rules might not allow moving during the night. Ensure that you check your building rules beforehand!
Booking in advance will also help lower costs and ensure we have availability. We typically do not schedule work on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day, but will sometimes make exceptions. We also try not to book Memorial/Labor Day or July 4. We do, however, move on Easter.
Once you book, we’ll give you one flat rate. You won’t be sitting on a moving day watching the clock tick and the bill go up. As long as you give us all relevant information about the move up front, we won’t change our initial flat rate.
Packing Services
We offer packing and unpacking services, all of which are available any day of the year. Our packing services include:
- Providing reusable packing bins: We can drop off and pick up reusable bins that are easy to pack and avoid waste.
- Furniture wrapping and dismantling: Furniture is carefully wrapped in moving blankets and bubble and shrink wrap. We will also take your furniture apart if needed.
- Packing and unpacking: We can pack and unpack all belongings.
- Pack-and-move: We can pack your things and move you all in one day.
Everything that can fit in a moving box should go in a box. We deal with things that don’t fit in a box on the day of the move. Should you need us to hold on to your things for a while, we can also store them.
